Physical Therapy
Licensed Physical Therapist at Blue Mountain Home Health care Lehigh Valley completes a comprehensive evaluation of patients condition in conjunction with physician's prescription to meet the patient's specific needs and then begin the treatment to bring our patients to a better level of functioning. Interventions include:
Occupational Therapy Services provide treatment for acute or chronic conditions of hand and the upper extremity(shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand). Patients who have arthritis, fractures, tendon and peripheral injuries, and repetitive motion disorder are treated for the following services including:
People with Dementia are cognitively impaired due to damage to the brain. The onset is gradual, and any improvement from the disease extends over several years making the patient completely dependent on others. Occupational therapist can educate those in the early stages of the disease, family members, and/ or concerned friends, about the dementia and its functional implications.
Speech Therapy
Speech Therapist will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with disorders related to speech, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. These disorders may result from stroke, brain injury or deterioration, developmental delays or emotional problems.
Speech Therapist teams up with physician, skilled nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, and social worker to develop individualized plan of treatment, which may include:

- Neurological Rehabilitation is provided to patients who have had a recent stroke or back injury, using inter disciplinary approach for muscle and sensory reeducation, coordination, and range of motion.
- Orthopedic Rehabilitation is provided to patients who have had a hip or knee replacement, fracture or sustained trauma to a bone to help them regain endurance and mobility
- Several Therapy modalities are used including therapeutic exercises, and manual therapy:
- Muscle Spasms/Strains Training
- Back or Spinal Injuries Exercises
- Cervical Injury Exercises
- Balance and Coordination Development Enhancement
- Sports Injuries Recovery
- Work-related Injuries

- Gait training

- Initial assessment to pinpoint falls and decreased mobility risks and address activities of daily living.
- Utilizing augmentative or alternative communication methods and devices
- Teaching oral muscle strengthening or compensatory strategies to swallow safely; helps patients develop, or recover, reliable communication and swallowing skills so patients can fulfill their educational, vocational, and social roles.
